About Bryn's Charities

 Bobath Children's Therapy Centre Wales

Bryn visits the Bobath CentreIn May 2003 Bryn visited the Therapy Centre and was deeply touched by the work undertaken there. Bryn said  It is a privilege for me to give my support to a charity

" Who make a difference" to children throughout Wales, who have cerebral palsy. As the father of three lively boys and with a Mam that has worked with children with special needs for over 30 years, I can only begin to appreciate the meaning of the words " Make a Difference". Shelter Cymru

Bryn was delighted last year to be asked to become President of Shelter Cymru and said "Most of us are fortunate enough to have a decent, safe, suitable home but not everyone in Wales is in that position".  To find out more about Shelter Cymru visit their website http://www.sheltercymru.org.uk/.

Ty Gobaith

Ty Gobaith, our children's hospice in Conwy, North Wales, opened in the summer of 2004. It now provides regular periods of respite care to almost 70 terminally ill children living in the North Wales area.

‘I can't imagine a more beautiful place to come to terms with the worst possible news,' said one mother whose son visits Ty Gobaith. ‘It gives us chance to breathe and to be an ordinary family with our other children. I don't know what we would do without Ty Gobaith.'

The hospice is run along similar lines to its sister hospice, Hope House, but is sensitive to the needs of the local population, many of whom speak Welsh as a first language. Find out more about Ty Gobaith by visiting their web site http://www.hopehouse.orrg.uk/

Ysgol Pendalar

Bryn visits the site of the new school.Ysgol Pendalar is a very special school, in more ways than one, very close to Bryn's heart as his mother worked there for over 30 years. Bryn enjoyed helping out at the school in his teenage years. People visit the school and they have no idea what to expect and they go away in amazement that the children can read and write and can use computers as well as learn many other skills relevant to everyday life. A visit to the school will open up a whole new world for many people, a wonderful world of much happiness as well as some sadness, of hard work and great fun and basically a world which is crying out to be understood.
